USCIS Random Notices: H-1, H-4 EAD Targeted?

The US government continues to make life harder for immigrants as people are reportedly getting random notices for biometrics.

Banias Law, an immigration-specialized law firm, recently reported that the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) are “sending out frivolous biometrics notices for employment based changes and adjustments of status.” Another Immigration attorney Adrian Pandev confirmed this, claiming several people have received such notices.

In Trump’s previous presidential term, H-4 visal holders had to face delays, lawsuits, and endless waiting. Attorneys fear this could be a replay of the nightmare faced by H-1B spouses.

USCIS could be using biometrics as a new weapon to slow down H4 EADs and other employment-based US visas. Professionals adjusting their status are under threat as the authorities continue to target them.

This news follows the ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) recently retreating from its crackdown against F-1 students and restoring their legal status that was terminated without any warnings and explanation. Such brutal steps being taken without any announcements are an indication of the time to come under Trump.

The government has made its stance against immigration very clear. It is evident that they can’t deport all of them, so they are ensuring to make them jump through hoops every day and force them to self-deport instead.
