USCIS Twin Shield Cracks Down Immigration Fraud

In a major move, the USCIS announced the results of Operation Twin Shield. This fraud investigation targeted the Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan area and exposed widespread immigration fraud.

Large-Scale Immigration Probe

The USCIS worked with ICE and the FBI to review over 1,000 immigration cases. Officers carried out more than 900 site visits and interviews to uncover fraud and security concerns.

Shocking Levels of Fraud

Investigators found evidence of fraud in more than 275 cases, making up 44 percent of the total examined. This raised concerns about the scale of such activities in the region.

Authorities issued 42 Notices to Appear or referred individuals directly to ICE for enforcement. FBI officers also arrested four people connected to fraudulent activities.
