80 Year Old American Obsession Plagues Netflix

Netflix’s latest docuseries, “Hitler and the Nazis: The trailer of Shoah, the multi-episode series about “Evil on Trial,” has been posted and, in a comparison, it brings the 80-year-old American interest to the darkest chapter of history back to mind.

However, there are many films and documentaries available that deal with Nazism very thoroughly. While this series remains based on the infamous rise and fall of the National Socialist regime, it also offers a new angle on the subject. The motion picture introduces the storyline in an ironic way through the Nuremberg tribunals. An American journalist, William L. Shirer, narrates his accounts, which become a horrifying prophecy.

The 6-part series, supervised by Joe Berlinger, traces back the bloody tracks of the Third Reich whose occupiers committed the crimes beyond imagination and remaining question is whether the World War II is sinking into the oblivion no more.

Despite the belief that the audience is already tired of the series about Nazism and World War II, the ongoing production of these series is based on the currently evolving context of public interest, education and the never-ending opportunity provided by the historical period.
