What to Watch on OTT

Aavesham OTT Reviews: Worth The Hype?

Fahadh Faasil’s latest Malayalam movie, Aavesham was a blockbuster in theaters and is now available on Amazon Prime Video.

Released in theaters on April 11, it got a lot of love from both audiences and critics. It’s still showing in theaters and making good money. Just within a month of its theater release, it’s already on Amazon Prime Video in India.

The response on OTT seems to be pretty good for Aavesham.

Viewers on OTT platforms are particularly impressed with Fahadh Faasil’s portrayal of Ranga, considered one of his best performances yet. His character’s style, with white attire and gold chains, along with his strong presence, has won hearts.

Fahadh Faasil steals every scene, with his sidekick Ambaan also receiving praise. Audiences are enjoying the interval and climax scenes.

One standout moment is a transition scene where FaFa’s performance shines, conveying a range of emotions in a single shot.

While the story is simple, it’s presented in a way that resonates with the young male audience. The humor is fresh, though some feel the second half isn’t as strong. Nevertheless, the film is worth the two-and-a-half-hour watch.

Sushin Shyam’s BGM is a banger. He is a talent to watch out for and he is someone who can give Anirudh a run for his money.

Overall, “Aavesham” has largely lived up to expectations on Amazon Prime, even after its success in theaters, a rare feat.
