Netflix Goes to War with Ajay Devgn: 1st Time Ever?

An exciting collaboration between two talented actors is on its way to Netflix, thanks to Ajay Devgn. The actor and producer will be backing a period drama titled Ramree, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mohit Raina, for the streaming giant. The film is set in 1945 and will depict Indian military operations along with significant historic events from that era.

Although details remain limited, reports suggest that the project will be directed by a debutant female filmmaker. This marks the first on-screen pairing of Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mohit Raina, raising expectations for a gripping cinematic experience. There is speculation that Netflix will finance the project, which could make Ramree the first Indian film produced entirely under the Netflix banner.

Industry buzz also hints that the film might hit theatres first before streaming on Netflix. While Ajay Devgn will not act in the film, it will be produced under his Devgn Films banner. Siddhant Chaturvedi, last seen in the romantic thriller Dhadak 2, received critical acclaim for his performance, especially for the sensitive themes tackled in the film.

Mohit Raina’s powerful screen presence and ability to portray intense military roles, as seen in Uri and 21 Sarfarosh: Saragarhi 1897, are expected to bring added depth to Ramree. Production is set to begin in October this year, and with the high expectations surrounding the project, audiences are eager to see what this ambitious Netflix venture will deliver.
