What to Watch on OTT

Teaser Talk: Keerthy Suresh Impresses, But Is It Original?

Keerthy Suresh will next appear in a new Netflix series, Akka. The teaser for the upcoming show arrived on October 17, 2026, and it features Radhika Apte, Tanvi Azmi, and many others playing important roles.

Intensity and powerful dialogue delivery are undoubtedly the two biggest highlights of this glimpse. But at the same time, it raises questions about whether the makers have taken inspiration from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi and Heeramandi.

The narration says that it is a story of a place where women have ruled for 800 years. Clearly, this is a hint that the ladies are going to have the upper hand here, and it is evident in the glimpse, as warnings are given and a man is burned alive.

Keerthy Suresh is looking beautiful and fierce at the same time. While the actress has gained recognition for the simplicity in the characters she has played in her films over the years, this time it is the complete opposite, as a lot of anger can be seen on her face, and her expressions say that she is ready to strike back in times of danger.

But it seems like Radhika Apte is going to be the surprise package here, as she says that it’s time to end the reign of the sisters. It could be an old clash that she wants to end forever, or she might be someone who does not belong in a place where a woman’s decision is considered to be final. A lot of questions remain, and they will be answered once the show arrives on October 30, 2026.

Notably, Keerthy Suresh is dealing with a lineup of flops since Baby John. Although Dorothy is receiving a positive response and is doing well at the box office, the numbers are still not up to the mark.

Collaborating with a big production house like Yash Raj Films can bring good luck. Unfortunately, YRF is also dealing with a similar situation after the failures of Alpha and War 2. In such cases, OTT can be the only chance to bring everyone back to the top position.

Netflix’s Indian content has rarely turned out to be good over the last few years. While Akka is promising a lot to deliver in terms of entertainment, everything will depend on whether the screenplay is good enough to keep audiences engaged in their seats until the end.

The main trailer is yet to arrive, and netizens believe that the show will work if the trailer leaves a positive impression. Let’s wait and see what happens.
