Akshay Kumar: From Hit Machine To Disaster Factory

What do you get when you have an average of 4.5 movies per year and an exhausted formula? A consecutive series of flops. Akshay Kumar’s “Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan” is the latest in his lasting series of flop movies that has now been going on since the release of “Bachhan Pandey” in 2022. If it were any other actor on a flop spree, the list would have had three or maybe four flops in the two-year period. Perhaps Akshay’s relentless approach has backfired on itself as he has garnered a whopping seven flop movies.

Analyzing the movies gives us a better idea of what has actually caused the downfall of one of the most loved actors in Bollywood. It was the post-COVID market in which Akshay started strong with Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi. An action-packed masala movie studded with stars and cameos. It was a massive hit. Soon after, we were presented with Bachhan Pandey. An addition to the long list of unsuccessful South remakes. Given the time, it was pitted against Kashmiri files. Which was showered with love while Akshay’s movie couldn’t gain 50 crores in its opening week.

Afterwards, a number of factors determined this fate, which include but are not limited to bad marketing, an exhausted audience, and too frequent movies, which are indeed half baked. And an overall bad choice of script.
