Aryan Khan’s debut web series Bads of Bollywood entered the OTT space with huge hype. Backed by heavy promotions and a big star cast, the show was expected to dominate digital platforms. But its first-week performance has left many surprised.
The series managed just 2.8 million views in its opening week. This is lower than Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi, which, despite Trollers, opened with 4 million views. Given the budget and half of Bollywood being part of the project, the numbers are underwhelming.
Even Raghav Juyal’s comic timing, projected as one of the highlights, hasn’t given the show the boost it needed. The muted response contrasts sharply with the massive pre-release buzz. Viewers had expected far more from Aryan Khan’s first project.
Still, the makers remain confident. They expect stronger traction in week two, banking on growing word of mouth. If positive chatter continues, Bads of Bollywood might still attract a wider audience. For now, its second-week numbers will be closely watched.
