Story leads to Sixteen years after the Na’vi defended Pandora from the RDA invasion. Jake Sully is now the chief of the Omatikaya clan. He lives with his family, including his wife Neytiri and their children. The RDA returns to colonize Pandora due to Earth’s impending demise. They introduce Recombinants, Na’vi avatars with memories of deceased human soldiers, led by Colonel Quaritch’s recombinant.

Jake leads a guerilla campaign against the RDA. During a mission, Quaritch captures Jake’s children, but Jake and Neytiri rescue them and kill some soldiers. However, Quaritch takes his human son Spider captive. To get away from this constant threat, Jake and his family move to Metkayina clan where they need to adapt themselves to survive in the water world.
