The grand finale of Telugu Bigg Boss Season 8 ended in controversy. Nikhil Maliyakkal was declared the winner, sparking outrage among Gautham Krishna’s fans. During the finale, host Nagarjuna raised Nikhil’s hand, officially announcing his win, while global star Ram Charan presented the winner’s trophy. Gautham finished as the runner-up, leaving his supporters deeply disappointed.
Following the announcement, thousands of Gautham’s fans gathered at Annapurna Studio, demanding fairness and questioning the decision. They expressed frustration over a non-Telugu contestant winning a Telugu reality show, especially since Nikhil was accused of playing a group game and manipulating emotions.
At the same time, Gautham was seen as a solo player. Fans criticized Star Maa and host Nagarjuna, alleging bias and favoritism toward Nikhil due to his association with the channel’s serials.
Given last season’s violent clashes after similar controversies, authorities anticipated unrest and imposed strict security measures at Annapurna Studio. Despite this, many agitated fans reached the venue after news of Nikhil’s win leaked. The police intervened, dispersing the crowd and ensured the normalcy.
