Daaku Maharaaj OTT: Definitely, a Big Surprise!

Ever since Daaku Maharaaj debuted on Netflix, Balakrishna’s commanding presence and Thaman’s background score have received widespread appreciation across languages.

The film showcases Balakrishna in two distinct looks—his regular, well-styled avatar works effectively, but his Daaku transformation lacks the impact expected from a title character.

However, OTT audiences are finding his performance effortless, with one emotional scene standing out as a highlight.

Viewers are enjoying the stylish action sequences and intrigue in the first half, but the second half falters with a generic villain track and a weak character arc for Bobby Deol.

Despite his screen presence, Bobby’s role feels routine and forgettable. Many digital viewers are also skipping portions of the second half, signaling a dip in engagement.

On the technical front, Vijay Kartik Kannan’s cinematography is a major asset, elevating the film’s visuals, while Thaman’s BGM enhances the experience.

For OTT audiences, Daaku Maharaaj is a decent one-time watch for Balakrishna’s screen presence and some well-executed action sequences, but the lack of a compelling story is hard to ignore.

The big surprise is, despite being a Balakrishna film, this one hasn’t generated many troll-worthy moments. After Ruler, Balakrishna and his directors are making sure there aren’t any scenes that get trolled or mocked by the brutal social media audience.
