Daldal, the new thriller series starring Bhumi Pednekar, has received mixed responses from critics and audiences after its release. The show attempts to explore the mind of a serial killer while presenting a darker take on India’s crime drama space.
At its core, Daldal follows a tense cat and mouse story between an investigator and a dangerous criminal. The series focuses on urban violence and psychological trauma, aiming to present a serious and disturbing narrative.
Bhumi Pednekar delivers a strong performance filled with emotional depth. She plays a character driven by grief and obsession, which adds intensity and realism to the story.
Critics have praised the series for its visuals and performances. However, many feel the pacing is slow and the tone becomes too heavy, which affects the overall engagement.
Audiences online share similar views. Some appreciate the layered storytelling, while others feel the constant bleakness makes the show exhausting to watch.
Several reviewers compared Daldal with Delhi Crime. While both deal with dark themes, Daldal is moodier and less structured, which has not worked for everyone.
Samara Tijori’s performance has been highlighted as a major positive. Her presence adds energy and balance to the otherwise sombre narrative.
Overall, Daldal is seen as an ambitious but uneven series. It may appeal to viewers who enjoy slow and intense thrillers, but it may not achieve mass popularity.
