Finally, Huge Relief For OTT Platforms

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has decided not to impose rules on Over-The-Top (OTT) platforms as part of its new broadcasting policy.

People have debated whether these platforms should be regulated, with some saying they should be.

However, TRAI believes that putting too many rules on them could make it harder for them to grow and do business easily.

Instead of strict rules, TRAI suggests making it easier for these platforms to get permissions to operate. They also suggest giving them special status to help them grow.

TRAI wants to encourage a competitive and affordable environment for broadcasting, where companies can create good content for Indian audiences.

They want to make sure there are good shows and movies made in India, and they also want to use older content from channels like Doordarshan in new ways, like on these streaming platforms.
