Ibrahim Ali Khan is once again coming back to the OTTs, JioHotstar has finally unveiled the first look of “Sarzameen”, a direct to digital by Dharma Productions on 25th July.
The actor started with his 2025 film “Nadaaniyan” alongside Khushi Kapoor, which was also under the roof of Dharma Production.
This movie stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol, and debutant Ibrahim Ali Khan. Directed by Kayoze Irani, son of the established actor Boman Irani.
The film was initially positioned as a theatrical release for Saif Ali Khan’s son, it would have been his first big screen movie.
But with the final call being an OTT the movie premieres on 25 July 2025 in JioHotstar.
This sudden shift reveals more than just a marketing strategy, it hints at pre-release nervousness.
The trailer carries the signature Dharma elements, emotionally loaded moments, and a dramatic narrative tone.
Prithviraj commands the screen with his composed intensity, while Kajol appears to be in an emotionally strong role that demands depth.
But it’s Ibrahim who naturally draws the most attention.
Kayoze Irani, stepping into the director’s chair, seems ambitious, his storytelling, mixing patriotism and a familial conflict.
But with no theatrical release which was supposed to be a theatrical release, instead a surprise OTT drop, the question arises.
Did the makers lose confidence in the box office performance or simply choose a safer bet?
“Sarzameen” may carry star power but its teaser suggests a film trying to walk two paths, that is re launching a legacy kid with the help of an army drama, and also to avoid commercial risk.
Whether it succeeds in striking that balance remains to be seen on 25 July.
