Bond as Double Agent? Massive Netflix-Amazon Deal

James Bond fans have reason to celebrate as several Bond films are set to stream on Netflix. The development comes after an unexpected licensing agreement with Amazon MGM Studios. The deal marks a rare collaboration between two major streaming competitors.

Netflix has confirmed that Die Another Day, No Time to Die, Quantum of Solace, and Skyfall will arrive on the platform from January 15, 2026. The availability will be limited. The films will stream for a three-month window only.

The Bond titles will be accessible across multiple regions. These include the United States, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, the Benelux countries, Italy, the Nordic countries, and Latin America. The wide rollout highlights the global scope of the deal.

Along with the Bond films, Netflix will also stream other Amazon-owned titles. These include Rocky, Creed, Legally Blonde, and the series The Man in the High Castle. The additions further strengthen Netflix’s licensed content slate.

The move follows the recent debut of Amazon’s conspiracy drama Hunters on Netflix earlier this month. Industry sources say the agreement is a strategic licensing decision. It is not viewed as a permanent change in Amazon’s streaming focus.

The deal is expected to boost global reach and renew audience interest. It is also likely to generate strong licensing revenue for Amazon MGM Studios. The strategy focuses on maximising value from its film library.

Chris Ottinger, Head of Worldwide Distribution at Amazon MGM Studios, said the agreement reflects a broader plan. He noted the aim is to license iconic titles worldwide. The studio continues to explore similar opportunities.

Despite the Netflix deal, Prime Video and MGM+ will retain their James Bond programming plans. Both platforms will continue their annual Bond showcases later in the year. The licensing move does not affect those schedules.
