Friday morning saw a major event in the world of OTT entertainment as Karthik Subbaraj announced the OTT release date for his film “Jigarthanda DoubleX,” starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah. The film is set to release on OTT on December 8, 2023.
What sets the film apart was that it is the sequel for one of the most successful ventures of 2014 for the Tamil industry. Owing to the great success of its predecessor, the talk of the film was all over the town before its release, however it failed to impress fans on the big screen and ended up with a meagre collection of INR 44.12 Cr in the Indian Box Office.
The film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi as per Netflix’s announcement post and the work is in progress for it to be made available in English as well.
Jigarthanda Double X”, shot extensively in locations across Tamil Nadu and Kerala, is produced under the banners of Stone Bench Films and Five Star Creations, revolves around a filmmaker and a gangster collaborating to make a Western film.
The film offers a fun fix of action and drama along with comedy and despite its fault is a heartful watch. The film, with an impressive length of 2hours 52 minutes is sure to prove to be a fun family binge for your next Saturday!
