
Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for Jo Nesbo’s Detective Hole, marking the long-awaited screen debut of one of crime fiction’s most iconic detectives. The series is adapted from Jo Nesbø’s bestselling Harry Hole novels.
The crime drama is set to premiere worldwide on March 26, 2026. It is the first long-form screen adaptation of Nesbø’s literary universe and signals a major step for Nordic noir on a global streaming platform.
Produced by Working Title, the series stars Tobias Santelmann as the troubled yet brilliant detective Harry Hole.
He is joined by Joel Kinnaman as corrupt officer Tom Waaler and Pia Tjelta as Rakel Fauke. The casting has already drawn strong interest from crime drama fans.
Jo Nesbø serves as creator, screenwriter, and executive producer of the series. He has described the adaptation as fresh while staying true to the core of his novels. Santelmann has called the role both an honour and a demanding creative challenge.
The nine-episode series combines a serial killer investigation with intense character drama. It explores moral conflict within law enforcement while maintaining a dark and gripping narrative tone.
