The Malayalam superhero film Lokah, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, has emerged as a huge blockbuster. Made on a Rs. 35 crore budget, it has already grossed more than Rs. 250 crores worldwide. Its box office run places it close to surpassing L2: Empuraan.
With such success, excitement about its OTT release has grown. Early reports suggested that Netflix had acquired the digital rights for a record price, nearly double its production cost. But recent updates confirm that no official deal with the streaming giant has been signed.
While Netflix did make a strong offer, the producers have not confirmed any agreement. The team is taking time to finalise the decision. With profits already secured from theatres, there is no urgency to close the digital deal immediately.
At present, Lokah’s OTT rights remain unsold. Fans continue to wait for an official announcement. The anticipation is high as viewers look forward to how this blockbuster will perform when it eventually lands on a streaming platform.
