
Unni Mukundan’s Marco, directed by Haneef Adeni, was released in theatres on December 20th and became a blockbuster success.
It is now streaming on the Sony LIV OTT platform from today in four South Indian languages.
Initially, there was strong buzz that the makers of Marco planned to release the uncut version on OTT, but only the theatrical version has been released.
A fan questioned on Instagram why the uncut version wasn’t released on OTT, tagging the production house. In response, the production house stated that due to various complaints raised by the Ministry of Broadcasting, they were unable to deliver the uncut version.
Marco is India’s most violent movie, with many people fainting in theatres while watching it due to its unbearable gore sequences and violent scenes involving children.
However, Marco was a blockbuster success in theatres, collecting more than 100 crores worldwide. Let’s see how the OTT audience receives it and whether it becomes a blockbuster success on streaming as well.
