Netflix Removes “Jai Shree Ram”—Fanatics Outraged

A sparking debate is circulating on the internet about the climax of “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”.

In the original version of the movie, the climax moment was Munni finally saying “Mama” , and she followed it up by saying “Jai Shree Ram”, this moment gave the audience the emotional catharsis, which is the combination of sorrow and realization.

But now, in a new edited version her dialogues have been altered, her words have been changed with a “Goodbye.”

Fans were very quick to notice the difference, and it has sparked a noticeable debate.

The audience are asking why remove such a powerful scene?

Was it to avoid religious sentiments? Or was it part of a broader attempt to neutralize the cinematic industry?

The original scene symbolized the bridge between two religious faiths, and a tribute to love. In the movie Munni was with the character of Salman Khan who is a believer of “Sree Raam” and through the entire time she heard him saying “Jai Shree Ram” as a thank you as well as, as Goodbye.

So in the end when she could finally speak she said the words “Jai Shree Ram”, this scene should not affect any religious sentiment.

By replacing it, the message feels less valuable.

It’s no longer a moment of unity. Critics are pointing it out by saying that it is cultural sanitizing.

Cinema is often a reflection of society. When we begin altering key moments in our stories, are we also distorting the emotional truths that they have once carried.
