It looks like Netflix India and Prime Video India are in a secret competition of who can disappoint fans more. Two of the biggest OTT platforms that are known for tremendously original and wonderful contents are bringing stories that no one wants to watch.
Netflix India is continuously coming with original movies and shows that users can easily tag as ‘cringe’. It has happened with ‘Naadaniyan’, ‘Jewel Thief’ and now ‘The Royals’.
Netflix India’s budget is being used in stories that have no substance and it is frustrating for fans.
On the other hand, Prime Video too is stuck on its own formulaic loop. Instead of setting an example at a time like this, the platform is trying to recreate Panchayat’s popularity with a show that is exactly like Panchayat.
It is a very sad time for Indian OTT because one OTT giant is only bringing worthless stories and the other has resorted to copy-paste.
People have a lot of trust for these platforms and it is not good that they are bringing originals like this, that nobody cares to watch. Both Prime Video and Netflix India will have to come up with some interesting original soon to Redeem their trust and fame.
