Netflix Titles: No Dub For South Fans?

People are complaining that Netflix is not doing justice to South Indian audiences with their foreign titles. They say many times these movies are released in Hindi only and even if the dubs in South Indian languages come, they come in very late.

Netflix is one of the most trusted and followed OTT platforms not just in India but the whole world and its content list for international titles is exceptional. The platform should create the opportunity for more people to enjoy these titles in a language they are comfortable in.

People prefer dubs to subtitles even now and if they are to be attracted with the movies and shows from abroad, there has to be more dubs. Fans have previously said that Kannada is usually ignored in terms of dubs many times. The same goes with Malayalam as well.

All the platforms need to be more inclusive and work on the dubs to create a more comfortable OTT experience for users. Otherwise the accusation of Hindi imposition on South Indian states by the OTT giants will gain more momentum and it will be bad for the platforms.

If more dubs come for foreign titles, it will be a win-win for both the audiences and platforms and Netflix should start thinking about working on it.

This issue is not just limited to Netflix South Indian dubs, but also extends to several other streaming services. While some platforms have improved their regional language support, Netflix still has a long way to go.

Audiences from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh expect equal treatment when it comes to accessing content in their native languages.

Additionally, many fans argue that Netflix South Indian dubs should be available on the same day as Hindi and English versions.

Delayed releases of dubs affect the viewership experience and often force audiences to rely on subtitles, which many do not prefer. If Netflix wants to maintain its dominance in India, it must prioritize timely South Indian language dubs and cater to a wider audience base.
