In the crowded OTT space in India, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are the top two streaming services. But Indian viewer preferences swing based on several factors and one of them is the number of devices that can stream content at the same time.
Netflix may be more expensive but wins with its convenience. It allows you to stream on multiple devices in the same household without having to log in and out. This makes it a better choice for families who want to watch different shows in different rooms.
On the other hand, Amazon Prime Video though is more affordable and offers additional benefits like Prime Music and faster delivery on Amazon, restricts streaming to only two TVs at a time. This can be a big limitation for users who have multiple screens at home. So, some subscribers find Netflix’s device policy worth the extra cost.
Content quality and variety too play a big role. Netflix has a vast library of high-quality shows and movies including critically acclaimed originals. Prime Video may not be as vast but has a good mix of Indian films and popular sitcoms making it a nice addition to Netflix.
Ultimately, it all comes down to individual priorities – cost, convenience or content. Both have their strengths and cater to different needs and preferences.
