Pōr: An Unnoticed Action Drama On Netflix

A movie with little to no promotion came to theaters last month, directed by Bejoy Nambiar. The man behind movies like “Shaitan,” “Taish,” and “Wazir” presented a college action drama with a massive, action-packed story.

“Pōr,” starring Arjun Das and Kalidas Jayaram in lead roles, is based on college politics and the rivalry between them. It beautifully blends themes like caste hierarchy and other aspects, giving us the mass entertainer that one wishes for.

The movie was also made simultaneously in Hindi, titled “Dange,” with a different cast: Harshvardhan Rane and Ehan Bhatt in lead roles. The performances and the story were praiseworthy, but the limited promotion didn’t give it the boost it deserved. The movie failed to reach its audience and was declared a box office flop.

Now that “Pōr” has completed four weeks after its theatrical release, it can be released on OTT platforms, and therefore, Netflix began streaming it from today. “Dange,” its Hindi version, will take a few more weeks to come on OTT.
