It has been a while since a Telugu film catered fully to the true blue Telugu audience. The Telugu OTT crowd is waiting for a non-commercial film that offers a peculiar experience.
One such potential film has now locked and loaded its OTT release date. The said film is Mangalavaram and it has sealed 26 December as its OTT release date. The film will stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
The Telugu OTT audience is inclined towards such dark mystic rural dramas, as was seen in the case of Polimera which also premiered on Disney+ Hotstar. There was Virupaksha which recently impressed Telugu OTT folk.
Now the stage is set for the debut of Mangalavaram, a mystical film to cater to the OTT folk. This kind of subjects usually work in the OTT space. Will that be the case with Mangalavaram? We shall wait and see.
The film is directed by Ajay Bhupati and it has Payal Rajput in the lead role. The hook point about the antagonist was revealed by the makers before the OTT release though.
