Prime Video Announces New Series, Poachers

In a riveting expose, Amazon Prime Video is set to premiere “Poacher,” an intense investigative crime series that delves into the depths of the largest ivory poaching ring in Indian history. Produced by QC Entertainment, the Oscar-winning company behind notable films like “Get Out” and “BlacKkKlansman,” this marks their foray into television.

Created, written, and directed by Emmy-award-winning filmmaker Richie Mehta, “Poacher” boasts a stellar cast featuring Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in pivotal roles. The series, comprising eight episodes, is set against the backdrop of Kerala and New Delhi, weaving a compelling narrative around the dangerous world of wildlife crime.

Premiering on February 23 exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in India and across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, “Poacher” has already garnered acclaim. The first three episodes premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, earning high appreciation from the audience.

The drama, presented in Malayalam, Hindi, and English languages, unfolds a deadly conspiracy as echoes from the jungle reveal a sinister web of intrigue. Richie Mehta, acclaimed for his work on “Delhi Crime,” brings his expertise to “Poacher,” a series grounded in court documents and testimonials. Filmed in the authentic locales of Kerala and New Delhi, the show sheds light on the heroic efforts of Indian forest service officers, NGO workers, police personnel, and individuals who risked their lives to uncover the nefarious poaching ring.
