Prime Video India Faces Heat — Piracy Threat Is Real

Prime Video’s recent advertisement policy drew huge flak from users and it looks like the policy can prove to not to be very profitable for the platform after all.

People 2ere already frustrated with the rental policy and now the advertisements. There are several comments on social media that are even threatening to resort to piracy if Prime Video does not change the plan.

While this is problematic and should not be encouraged at all, Prime Video really should reconsider its decision. If every platform starts to play ads and charge more for ad-less streaming, a large number of audiences with financial difficulties might not continue with the subscription.

But the demands for the movies will never stop, so the only go to place will be piracy. The piracy problem is already a big issue in India and OTT platforms need to be more considerate and smooth to stop people from stepping into piracy.

Netizens directly promoting piracy on social media gives a glimpse at how enraged fans are with ads in OTT streaming.

A few trivial changes in the platform will make a big difference and people will not be frustrated with the streaming.
