Prime Video’s ‘The Mehta Boys’ is all set to premiere on OTT and it might be a very interesting title for Indian audiences. It features wonderful actors like Avinash Tiwary and Boman Irani and it is also Irani’s directorial debut.
The movie has already screened at some prestigious festivals like Indian Film Festival Berlin, International Film Festival of South Asia and Chicago South Asian Film Festival. It even got the award for best film in Chicago.
Therefore, the movie will surely cater to the cinephile audiences in India. But there is no buzz around the movie in the OTT audiences till now. People on social media too are very silent about the movie.
Some films quickly fade away from the public eye and cannot do much when they are out on OTT if they do not get sufficient film festival PR. To know whether The Mehta Boys deserves all the recognition or the festival screenings are just PR marketing, we will have to wait a bit longer.
Hopefully the movie will live up to the standard of the best film award and win over the Indian audiences across languages.
