Sequel to Superhit OTT Murder Mystery

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is set to return as Inspector Jatil Yadav in Raat Akeli Hai 2.

Reprising his role as the sharp small-town cop, Siddiqui will be seen investigating a high-profile murder case. This time Housefull 5 actress Chitrangda Singh will be joining the cast as the female lead.

While the plot and character details haven’t been revealed yet, the sequel is expected to stick to the classic format, with Jatil Yadav solving yet another complex and mysterious case.

The film will once again be directed by Honey Trehan, who directed the first instalment and will also co-produce under Macguffin Pictures alongside Abhishek Chaubey.

The sequel is being co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies, with Smita Singh Khan returning as the scriptwriter. Production is scheduled to begin next month and we can hope for a late 2025 release.

Siddiqui and Singh were previously going to work together on Babumoshai Bandookbaaz in 2017. However, Singh withdrew because she was uncomfortable with some intimate scenes in the film.

The duo seems to have moved past those issues, with Singh being excited about collaborating with Siddiqui on this thrilling sequel.

The original Raat Akeli Hai was a gripping murder mystery set in a small town It featured standout performances by Radhika Apte and Shweta Tripathi and was loved for its engaging storytelling.

In an era where sequels often struggle to meet fan expectations, Raat Akeli Hai 2 has big shoes to fill. Here’s hoping it lives up to the standard set by its predecessor and delivers an equally captivating story.
