Ikka on Netflix: Sunny & Akshaye Enter OTT Action

Ikka will mark the reunion of Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna in a Netflix thriller. Sunny Deol has officially stepped into the OTT space. Like several Bollywood stars, he is ready to appear in a commercial thriller tentatively titled Ikka, as reported by Peeping Moon. The film is expected to release on Netflix next year.

The project also stars Akshaye Khanna and is directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra. The shoot is expected to wrap up before Malhotra shifts focus to his passion project, Kamal Aur Meena.

Sources reveal that Netflix initially planned to adapt the Hollywood action thriller Death Sentence. However, the idea was dropped. The script of Ikka will be fresh, with filming scheduled to begin in Mumbai next month.

Netflix has delivered strong content in the action and thriller space. Sunny’s fans are thrilled to see him in Ikka, though some are disappointed that he is not prioritising big-screen films.
