Survey: Preferred OTT Device in India is Unexpected

OTT streaming and the Indian market are a match made in heaven, as the market is vast and not even half of it has been captured by streaming giants like Amazon Prime Video or Netflix.

A recent survey conducted by a popular agency revealed some interesting details about Indian OTT users’ viewing habits.

The survey suggests that 97% of Indian OTT users prefer smartphones to consume content, rather than TVs or laptops.

This number is indeed shocking, which explains why some streaming platforms are rolling out mobile-only plans at lower prices to boost their paid subscriptions.

It is known that after Netflix struggled to make an impact in the Indian market, they finally launched an affordable mobile plan at ₹149 per month, targeting smartphone streaming users.
