48 Cuts: CBFC Bends it Like Beckham

Looks like the Central Board of Film Certification of India is going to set a new record in terms of suggesting cuts to the yet to be released films. We have got many such surprises and this one will definitely be a record breaker with 48 cuts.

Bollywood upcoming movie ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz‘ went for CBFC certification and the Censor Board suggested 48 cuts leaving the makers of the movie in astonishment. The number itself is shocking and what would be left out of the film, if the makers remove the suggested 48 cuts?

So, the makers may go for a revision hoping for a fewer number of cuts. If we go by the trailer of the movie, there would be several bold kissing and lovemaking scenes. That could be CBFC’s objection for passing the film. But then, CBFC can’t be a social police to do moral policing and it must understand that CBFC is meant for certification and not for censorship.
