Sanjay Dutt’s new political drama movie Aakhri Sawal released in theaters today, and it is getting mixed to positive response from the critics online.
Directed by National Award Winning filmmaker Abhijeet Mohan Warang, the movie is about a serious argument between a professor and his student. The initial reviews are praising the film for its brave topic and cleverly written drama that clarifies the misunderstanding related RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh).
According to most reviews, the best part of the movie is the acting of Sanjay Dutt who gives a very calm and powerful performance as Professor Gopal Nadkarni, making it one of his best recent performances. Namashi Chakraborty is a big surprise here, as he does a great job standing up to Dutt in their angry argument scenes. The simple yet sharp dialogues and the classroom scenes are liked by everyone.
On the other hand, the movie has some problems too. Many reviewers pointed out that the story becomes too dramatic like an old Bollywood movie at times. The background music is also too loud, which makes serious scenes feel like a TV serial. A few people felt that the second half of the movie gets a bit slow and repetitive.
Trade experts believe this is a word of mouth film that can only turn a profit if the general public genuinely likes it. However, that looks very difficult right now because there is almost no awareness about the film among the masses.
