3 Idiots Sequel Demand: Trouble for Aamir’s New Ind-Pak Film

Aamir Khan has finalized his upcoming film schedule by locking in two major projects. The actor has officially allotted his dates for director Ashutosh Gowariker’s next sports drama, with Farhan Akhtar also joining the cast.

The upcoming film is a period sports drama based on the life of legendary Indian cricketer Lala Amarnath. This project marks a major reunion for Aamir Khan and Ashutosh Gowariker, coming nearly 25 years after their hit film Lagaan. Reports indicate that Farhan Akhtar will play a key role as a Pakistani cricketer who shares a close bond with Amarnath during the Partition era.

However, some fans are worried about this sports drama. They do not want Aamir to include a positive Pakistani character in his movies, as public sentiment toward the country remains deeply negative. Many people previously disliked the inclusion of Pakistani characters in Laal Singh Chaddha and PK, arguing that those characters could have easily been from a different Indian state instead of being a good Pakistani.

Experts also feel that after the release of Dhurandhar, which exposed true colors of Pakistan, it would be an irresponsible move to show Pakistanis in a good light, especially since the entire country understands their general attitude toward India. Also, general audience is not interested in watching cricket film in theaters these days as they already see so much every year during IPL and other tournaments.

Apart from that, Aamir Khan is also doing a sequel to 3 Idiots. The film is currently in the early writing stage, meaning shooting will not begin before mid-2027. For now, Aamir will need to be careful with his upcoming sports drama and keep public sentiments in mind instead of focusing too much on being politically correct.
