Salman Khan’s Headache Continues: No NOC, No CBFC?

Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi has been long delayed, and fans are eagerly waiting to watch the film on the big screen. While some early reports claimed that the film was arriving after Ramayana in theatres, it seems like the wait is going to be a little longer.

A new update has now confirmed that the film has not received an NOC so far from the Ministry of Defence, and until this process is completed, the makers cannot show it to the CBFC for a certificate.

The film has been dealing with this hurdle since the middle of this year, when it was shown to the Ministry of Defence. An insider claimed that the MoD asked to change a few portions where Salman appears as an army officer, and those scenes were reshot.

Although the revised cut was sent to the MoD, they have not responded yet, and further updates are still awaited. As of now, Salman and the makers have maintained their silence on the matter, and there is no confirmation of whether the movie will be released in theatres this year.

On the other hand, fans once again expressed their frustration on social media. Most of them asked why the makers were not making any effort to get an update from the MoD and resolve the issue by themselves. They even pointed out that more delays will lead to an inflated budget, which will be hard to recover in case the content does not impress the audience.

The majority of Salman’s fans have now requested the makers to resolve the matter as soon as possible and bring the film to OTT instead of theatres. They said that while delays help a film to earn more at the box office, Salman should not experiment with that for now and an OTT release will save him from more losses.

On the other hand, a few fans still stood in support of a theatrical release. However, they advised the makers to shift the release to 2027 and find a date towards the end of the year.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, Maatrubhumi was initially titled Battle of Galwan, and a new song was also released a few days ago without any update on the release date. The song’s arrival has proved, for now, that the film will release. But the question is how long it is going to take for the makers to get it cleared of all the hurdles.
