On 6 September 2025, Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai approached the Delhi High Court. They filed a petition against fake videos created with their faces and voices that were uploaded on YouTube and other platforms without permission.
The actors requested protection for their image and identity. They also demanded about Rs. 4 crore as compensation for the harm caused. Their case highlighted how easily such manipulated content spreads and damages reputations.
The High Court granted them temporary relief. It ordered that any flagged videos should be removed quickly once links are shared. This response was aimed at curbing further misuse while the case continues in court.
Deepfake misuse is not limited to celebrities. Such videos can spread false information, damage trust, and even be used to scam people. With AI advancing rapidly, the risks are growing and require immediate attention.
