Actress Radhika Apte is facing heavy social media trolling after sharing her review of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar. Her comments upset a section of users online and quickly triggered backlash across platforms, turning a personal opinion into a viral controversy.
Radhika openly said she felt disturbed by the level of violence being sold as entertainment. She criticised the film’s hyper violent graphics and said she would not want to raise a child in a world where such content is normalised, adding that she can no longer deal with it.
Soon after her remarks circulated, several users attacked her for the kind of projects she has done earlier. Many pointed to her past work in Rakhta Charitra, Lust Stories, Sacred Games, and other titles that also featured graphic violence and nudity.
Some users mocked her statements by twisting her words and accusing her of hypocrisy. One comment mirrored her tone by claiming discomfort with nudity and vulgarity being promoted as entertainment, clearly aimed at targeting her past roles.
Despite the trolling, a section of users supported Radhika and praised her honesty. They agreed with her concerns and felt she had the right to criticise the film’s violent presentation without being personally attacked.
The episode highlights a growing trend where actors, filmmakers, and critics face abuse simply for expressing dislike or discomfort with a film. With Dhurandhar generating strong buzz, the debate now centres on whether open criticism is still acceptable once a film becomes a hit.
