Akshay’s Housefull 5 Remake of Classic Blockbuster?

Housefull 5 was already making waves with its star cast and quirky concept, but now it’s in the spotlight for a different reason.

The film has sparked controversy after critic Kamaal R. Khan (KRK) made a fiery accusation, stirring up debate online. The movie’s twist—a murder mystery where the killer changes every hour—has intrigued many, but it’s the off-screen drama that’s stealing the show.

KRK has created controversy by accusing the central story of Housefull 5 of not being as new as it is being touted. Based on his account, the film follows the plot of the 1969 classic Waris very closely.

He cites glaring parallels, specifically in the areas of multiple successors, mistaken identity, and confusion over inheritance—implying that the new film is more of a remake than a fresh concept.

Since Housefull 5 is being marketed as “the most unpredictable cruise ever” with more than one ending and more than one killer based on the showtime, this charge spoils the thrill.

KRK’s criticism is more than skin-deep grievance—he’s challenging what he perceives as a lack of imagination camouflaged with lavish production and large stars.

Neither does he hold back. KRK has already made it evident that too much glitz and glamour cannot hide a plot that feels like it’s been copied.

Agree or disagree as viewers may, his words have certainly raised a new level of intrigue surrounding the film. Is Housefull 5 a smart tribute to a famous classic movie, or just a loud copy? In the end, the answer might depend on the ending you see.
