Shankar’s Villain Overpowered Salman Khan

When it comes to the theatrical performance of Salman Khan films, except the other two Khans, it is very unlikely that any other star hero even comes close to his box-office records. But, Akshay Kumar did achieve that.

This star hero, who is going to come before the audiences as director Shankar’s villain in his upcoming sci-fi movie ‘2.0’, beat the record of Salman Khan’s movie ‘Sultan’ which recorded a TRP of 3.32. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Jolly LLB 2’ which was premiered on television had recorded 3.83 TRP, leaving the trade pundits surprised.

Akshay has a family image and most of his movies are suitable for family viewing with no objectionable love scenes or vulgar anecdotes in the name of comedy. His roles as a ‘do-gooder’ and an idealist had won him loyal fans. That could be the reason why ‘Jolly LLB 2’ could overpower Salman’s ‘Sultan’ and also Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’ on television.
