Massive Climax: Can Akshay Break Flop Sequel Curse?

Welcome to the Jungle, the third film in the popular Welcome franchise, is finally heading towards its climax after facing years of delays. The massive ensemble cast is now gearing up for the final shoot in North India.

In recent weeks, Akshay Kumar and director Ahmed Khan have been wrapping up major sequences filmed at international locations. The team returned from Dubai at the end of October after shooting two romantic songs with Akshay and Disha Patani, then resumed work in Mumbai on November 6.

According to a source from the unit, production designer Shailesh Mahadik has built an enormous jungle set at Film City in Goregaon. The space is so vast that cast and crew members use helicopters to move between locations during filming.

Director Ahmed Khan confirmed that after the Mumbai schedule, the team, including the 34-member cast, will head to North India for a 20-day climax shoot. Action master Abbas Mogul will choreograph the high-octane scenes featuring chases, gunfights, explosions, and nearly 300 horses.

The final schedule begins in the first week of December, after which an introduction song with the entire cast will be filmed in Dubai to mark the completion of production. Fans are already buzzing with excitement as the makers tease new updates regularly.

However, Akshay’s recent run with sequels has made audiences cautious. This year alone, he delivered Kesari 2, Housefull 5, and Jolly LLB 3 all received lukewarm responses despite being part of strong franchises.

Trollers also feel Welcome to the Jungle, like Housefull 5, risks losing focus due to its large ensemble. Many wonder if Akshay can bring back the spark of the original Welcome, especially since he wasn’t part of the second film.

For Akshay, this film’s success is crucial to reaffirm his star power. With shoots progressing steadily, audiences can soon expect some wild jungle chaos on the big screen.
