Allu Arjun Pushpa 2’s Big Message to Bollywood

The success of Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ is not hidden from anyone. The film is making new records on its own, shattering multiple perceptions and stereotypes.

The film has garnered a loyal pan-India following, winning the hearts of people across the boundaries of North and South. It has especially outperformed itself in the Hindi belt, leading to widespread discussions regarding the craze.

A video of a single-screen theatre owner Vishek Chauhan (Roopbani Cinema) from Purnea, Bihar has gone viral, where he explains the things done right by Pushpa 2 that Bollywood repeatedly fails to achieve.

Emphasizing the success of Pushpa 2’s Hindi version, he said that the film has shattered all records, overtaking Stree 2, with the Christmas to New Year holidays still to come.

He stressed the need to create a film connected to the roots, something that people can relate to and enjoy irrespective of class, literacy, and status.

He further explained how Bollywood often ignores such Masala concepts, deeming them outdated, while it has been proved time and again that it is what the audience wants to see.

Reflecting on the sad state of Bollywood, he said that the industry has lost its ability to provide a ‘complete palate of entertainment’ to its audience.

He said that while such films were common in the 90s, with stars like Amitabh Bachchan taking the lead, the trend has been mostly dead since then in Bollywood.

A Telugu film topping the charts in the Hindi heartland is something that Bollywood needs to take into consideration.

Although we have stars with mass appeal, faulty writing and direction, along with a general lack of people with rooted attachments to the common man have led to the industry being in such a pathetic state.

The big minds of Bollywood need to think about this and start from scratch so that any hope of reconstruction remains alive.
