Actress Abused During Intimate Scene? Who is He?

While intimate scenes have been common in Bollywood the usage of intimacy coordinators have not been normalised until recently. Recounting a horrible incident from her earlier years in the industry Anupria Goenka recalled how a male-costar tried to take advantage of the intimate scenes to misbehave with her.

She shared that her co-star got too excited and touched her waist down while shooting an intimate scene. She had to re-establish boundaries by clearly telling him to never do that again.

Anupria has appeared in films like War, Tiger Zinda Hai, Padmaavat and many web shows as well. Fans are guessing on the internet who this actor could be.

However, it is more important to realise how work space for an actress can be doubly oppressive, first due to the gender biases and secondly with male actors taking undue advantage of intimate scenes. The role of intimacy coordinator is essential to ensure that actors feel comfortable and filmmakers should not neglect the necessity of hiring them.
