Music composer AR Rahman is reportedly stepping away from social media for 40 days ahead of a key milestone for the film Ramayana. The temporary digital break is said to help him focus on work commitments linked to the ambitious project.
The Nitesh Tiwari-directed Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi. The film has generated massive anticipation, especially with A.R. Rahman collaborating with Hans Zimmer on the music, marking a rare global partnership in Indian cinema.
AR Rahman spoke about the decision during a recent concert in Chennai. He shared that the break would allow uninterrupted focus as important deadlines for the soundtrack approach in the coming weeks.
A major event scheduled in March is expected to officially introduce the cast and crew. Ramayana: Part 1 and Part 2 are slated for Diwali releases in 2026 and 2027, making timely completion of the music a priority.
A.R Rahman’s recent projects include the dialogue-free film Gandhi Talks, featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Arvind Swamy, which released in January 2026. He also composed music for the Arabic film Baab.
Alongside Ramayana, the composer is working on Peddi, a sports action drama led by Ram Charan and directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film is scheduled for release on April 30, 2026.
Other projects in his lineup include Moon Walk, Genie, Killer, and D56. The digital detox appears designed to manage these multiple commitments more effectively.
