Ramayana is all set to arrive in theatres this year, and the makers have reportedly begun planning large scale strategies to ensure the magnum opus performs strongly at the box office after release.
The producers of the upcoming mythological epic are aiming for massive global distribution. The team has reportedly decided to lock 42,000 screens worldwide, which is said to be higher than the record set by Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule.
For international distribution, the makers are planning a wide release across key markets. Around 4,500 screens have reportedly been secured in North America, while China is expected to get the largest share with 20,000 screens.
Several production companies have partnered to distribute the film in different regions. Phars Movies will handle distribution in the Gulf region, while WB will distribute the film in multiple international language markets worldwide.
The screen count in other global territories is reported to be 10,035. Producer Namit Malhotra is said to have finalised the latest distribution agreement earlier this month after negotiations that began last year.
The Chinese distribution rights will reportedly be handled by the China Film Group. This large scale planning has already created strong discussion online and increased curiosity about the film’s global release strategy.
