Arshad Warsi, best known for his cult comic characters, will undergo a sea change when he joins the fight in Shah Rukh Khan’s eagerly anticipated action drama ‘King’. The SRK-studded movie Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Abhay Verma, and Deepika Padukone has a cameo.
Although Arshad’s part is under the wraps, there are early signs that it’s no comedy or lightweight supporting role—this is a dark, heavy crime-action drama, far from his usual genre.

In his 30-year career, Arshad has delivered memorable performances but never a comedy-drama blockbuster solo in any other movie but comedy.
From ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ to ‘Golmaal’ and ‘Dhamaal’ series, his box office top grosser films have been based on his sense of comedy. But he has established his mettle in films like ‘Ishqiya’ and ‘Sehar’, which were critical hits but not his comedies’ box office pull.

‘King’ offers Warsi a one-in-a-lifetime chance to break this mold. With Siddharth Anand’s action credentials and SRK’s stardom, already the film is one of Bollywood’s most eagerly anticipated releases, to be released in late 2026.
If Arshad’s effort works, this can be his first non-comedy blockbuster—a long time coming for one of the industry’s best, most versatile and underrated actors.
