No More Sexually Bold Scene Between Kartik & Ananya?

Bollywood’s upcoming romantic drama Tu Meri Main Tera has completed its censor formalities ahead of its Christmas 2025 release. The Central Board of Film Certification has cleared the film with a U/A 16+ certificate after recommending several mandatory edits.

To secure the certification, the CBFC asked the makers to trim three scenes it termed obscene. As a result, the film now features fewer bold and intimate moments between the lead pair. These changes significantly alter the romantic tone of certain portions.

The most notable edit involves a 15-second sexually suggestive scene between Kartik and Ananya. The scene appears in the first half of the film. The board directed the makers to shorten it to suit the intended audience.

This particular cut was reportedly the longest modification suggested by the CBFC. Apart from visual edits, the board also asked for dialogue changes. Obscene words were muted or removed from both audio and subtitles.

Another change involved removing abbreviated obscene expressions from a scene in the second half. The CBFC stated that such edits were necessary to maintain theatrical viewing standards. These measures were part of routine certification guidelines.

After implementing all changes, the film received its censor certificate on December 15. This clearance came well ahead of its scheduled release. The certificate also confirms the final runtime of the film.

Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has a duration of 145.41 minutes. This equals 2 hours, 25 minutes, and 41 seconds. The runtime makes it longer than most recent Bollywood romantic dramas.

The film is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Bhumika Tewari under Dharma Productions. Shareen Mantri Kedia and Kishor Arora of Namah Pictures are also producers on the project.

The film marks Kartik Aaryan’s first collaboration with Dharma Productions. It also reunites him with Namah Pictures and director Sameer Vidwans after Satyaprem Ki Katha. Expectations remain measured ahead of release.

The film is slated for a worldwide Christmas 2025 release. Trade watchers expect a modest performance during the holiday window. Much will depend on audience reception following the censor changes.
