Chand Mera Dil: Remake of a 2000s Telugu Blockbuster?

Lakshya and Ananya Panday’s upcoming film Chand Mera Dil is facing backlash even before its release. The controversy is mainly due to allegations that the film copies scenes from other movies.

Recent speculation suggests that Chand Mera Dil could be a remake of the late actor Uday Kiran’s film Chitram. This discussion started after the title song was released.

Glimpses from the song indicate that the female character is expecting a child. This has led to assumptions that the story revolves around teenage pregnancy, similar to the Telugu film.

Trade experts believe that if these reports are true, the film may struggle at the box office. They pointed out that the original concept is old and may not connect with today’s audience.

They added that the story needs a fresh presentation to work. Without a new approach, repeating the same theme may appear outdated.

Fans have also questioned Lakshya’s choice of this project. They feel he is better suited for action roles and intense characters that appeal to a wider audience.

Several other similarities have been pointed out by viewers. The voice of Faheem Abdullah in the new song has drawn comparisons, along with a bike scene that resembles Saiyaara.

Earlier, the film also faced criticism for looking like a different version of Kabir Singh. These repeated comparisons have added to the negative buzz.

Trade experts are still hoping the film will attract audiences. However, many online users are raising concerns about the lack of originality among filmmakers.

Some observers said the theme may appeal only to a limited section of viewers, especially those visiting premium multiplexes. This could impact the overall reach of the film.

There are also concerns about the budget. If it crosses Rs. 80 crores, recovery could become difficult without strong box office performance.

While Lakshya may draw some audience, there appears to be limited interest in Ananya Panday among the general public. With low buzz and ongoing criticism, it remains to be seen how Chand Mera Dil performs.
