Church criticized for denying burial of Top actress’ granny

Rules are rules for some churches and it is surprising to hear that rules come in between to grant the last wish of a deceased person. Top Bollywood actress, Priyanka Chopra’s grandmother was denied burial in the church she wished to be buried.

Lashing out at the denial by the St. John’s Attamangalam Church, several bishops came in support of Priyanka Chopra terming this act of denial as inhuman and anti-christian. Bishop Thomas Mar Timotheus granted permission to bury Priyanka’s granny at St. Thomas Jacobite Church.

Priyanaka Chopra was hurt for not fulfilling the last wish of her maternal grandmother and says “I’m not going to take this lying down.” It was the last wish of her 92-year old granny to be buried in the church in which she was baptized.
