Criminal Charge on Miscreant: Piracy Film on FB

After reading this news, we were wondering when would we have such a law where any miscreant can be arrested with charges of copyright infringement. A man was arrested in Central California for uploading the Marvel film ‘Deadpool’ on Facebook.

This pirated version uploaded by him was watched by more than 5 million people by the time Federal Bureau of Investigation observed this and arrested the miscreant for the crime. He would have to spend three years in jail for this copyright infringement.

‘Deadpool’ was an American superhero film released in February 2016 and went on to become a blockbuster. Days after the release, the miscreant by name Trevon Maurice Franklin uploaded the movie on his Facebook wall. He was caught by FBI and is now going to face the trial.
