Rs 100 Crore Hit Takes an Unusual Decision

Deool Band 2 has emerged as a major success at the box office. Made on a reported budget of around Rs 8–10 crore, the Marathi film has now crossed the Rs 100 crore mark.

The numbers alone make it a remarkable success story. But what the makers are doing with the profits is getting even more attention.

The team has decided to use the profits from the film to support the children of farmers who died by suicide. The plan includes educational support and other assistance for these families.

It is certainly not the usual way of celebrating a blockbuster. After a film crosses Rs 100 crore, the focus normally shifts to the producers’ profits, the next projects and bigger budgets. In this case, the makers have chosen to give back through the success of the film.

The film has also been in the news for its association with Shah Rukh Khan, which has been an open secret for some time.

From an Rs 8–10 crore investment to more than Rs 100 crore in the box office, Deool Band 2 has already delivered an impressive commercial result.

Now, the makers are giving a part of that success back to families who need it most.
